Image ¡Fiesta Flamenca!

Join Us for a Holiday Fiesta Flamenca!

Back by popular demand - our next Fiesta Flamenca is scheduled for December 15, 2012! A perfect opportunity to share your love for Hispanic arts with friends and to introduce someone who has never experienced the beauty and passion of flamenco!ç ______________________________

UPDATE:

our studio has sprung a leak after the rain last week and we currently have repairs going on which will prohibit us from hosting our holiday party there. HOWEVER, thanks to our flamenco friends Sarah Houston and Zarek Parker, who generously offered to host the juerga at their house, we're moving the celebration there! The updated location is  1817 Deer Park Ave, Louisville, KY 40204. There is no cover charge, please bring a dish/drink to share. There is plenty of space to show off you new flamenco moves but because the party is at a house we ask that dancers please bring non-flamenco shoes (without nails).  ______________________________ At 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15rd, 2012, bring your family and friends to our studio located at 962 Baxter Avenue, Louisville, KY 40204. After a $10 donation per person at the door, you will be greeted with tapas, Sangria and wine and treated to authentic flamenco music and dance. Dress in your favorite flamenco costume and get ready to dance the night away to the passionate and evoking sounds of flamenco guitar.  We hope to see you there!

Flamenco
What does the word "Flamenco" mean? There are several theories of what the word "Flamenco" actually means, all of which are pretty speculative. One popular theory says that the word originated from Arabic 'felag mengu' or 'fellah mengu', which means 'peasants without land'.
